PGPC Grouse |Shoot
Friday 10th August 2007-08-15
Holland & Holland
The sun was out and the birds were flying but yours truly was clearly having an off day. Despite being the defending champion for the last three years my scores plummeted and an Antipodean interloper by the name of Tony (Gooner) Wood returned to Blighty and well and truly blasted all before him away. Tony was the founder of the Gobi Desert Canoeing Club and before his emigration to NZ was the Grouse champion of 2000. Clearly his relaxed lifestyle down under has not detracted from his abilities with a 12 bore and his score of 48 was enough to win the Top Gun and Team prize for 2007. Go home soon Tony and don’t come back!!!!!!!
The results from this year and those from the previous years are added for your amusement and I look forward to seeing you all next year for more fast and furious action.
Regards
Roger

I thought the Annual Shoot 2007 was a really well organised day and it seemed to go like clockwork! But just one thought. There is a very nice trophy for side by side users but not many people seem to have a try for it.
It would be nice to see more people having a go with the traditional game gun.
One suggestion to encourage interest I have is this. It is reckoned that a side by side is equivalent to a 10% handicap with clays, so make this official and boost the scores of teams by 10% for every member of the team using a a side by side! That should make people a bit keener to use one! And means that teams with someone using a side by side aren't handicapped because of it. I'd be interested to know what others think.
