PGPC Community Update

Dear PGPC Members,

Richard Ellis team circa 1985.jpg

Hope you are all well.

The summer is too much fun to be indoors on a computer, however, I thought I would provide an update on pgpc.co.uk.

Google

You can now type pgpc into google to reach the site from www.google.co.uk.

New Users

It is now more easy to create an account.

1. Member Accounts

  • With the 'Create new account' option people can just set their own password. An email is then sent out with their account information but just for their reference.
  • You can now also change your user name.

2. Photo Gallery

There is now a gallery system that includes users can add photos to and comment on. Please use the feedback option to request permissions to do this (quite painless).

Sometimes it may be a good idea to send CDs to the friendly site administrator.

BuzzinHornets

Members can comment on photos. What would be good is to get a write up of the shoots. I can then insert some photos into to brighten it up.

Please feel welcome to post information in the forums. Perhaps for the next shoot.

3. Feedback

I have also put in a feedback option and a note on the front page to encourage this. It would be good in fostering this online community of the club to have some friendly and available support on the site.

The overall aim is to have the site setup in a more intuitive fashion and feedback helps this.

4. Future Plans

There are two things that could improve the site. The current site is based on some very powerful hosting.
As always there are faster and more expensive options. For the site to run faster I can setup a really high powered server.
If feedback shows that people want things to run faster I can get this done.

I also plan to develop a good newsletter system that integrates with email.
This will be a news group that is linked to the users of the site.

Posting a message will be as easy as sending and email to one address which is then automatically forwarded to all members.

Best Regards,

Tom.
