Inter Region 2008 Hosted by Manchester in Oxfordshire!

Inter Region 2008
Hosted by Manchester in Oxfordshire!

Those intrepid soles who ventured north to wildest Oxfordshire will know how hard the 2008 Inter Region shoot was. The course designer clearly had a thing about high crossing/quartering birds and for those of us with a problem with such birds the day certainly sorted out the men from the boys.

For once my score didn’t qualify and I have fallen on my metaphorical sword. Well done to James (J), Eliot, James (VS) and David for holding our end up and thanks to all 15 of us who tried in vain to defend our 2007 title. Those dam Brummies were just too good as the score sheet only too well illustrates. While Manchester and London only had four qualifying scores of over 50% Birmingham produced twelve!!! Clearly they’ve been practicing but well done all the same.

PGPC Grouse Shoot

This email was sent to users with the following roles: authenticated user

PGPC Grouse |Shoot
Friday 10th August 2007-08-15
Holland & Holland

The sun was out and the birds were flying but yours truly was clearly having an off day. Despite being the defending champion for the last three years my scores plummeted and an Antipodean interloper by the name of Tony (Gooner) Wood returned to Blighty and well and truly blasted all before him away. Tony was the founder of the Gobi Desert Canoeing Club and before his emigration to NZ was the Grouse champion of 2000. Clearly his relaxed lifestyle down under has not detracted from his abilities with a 12 bore and his score of 48 was enough to win the Top Gun and Team prize for 2007. Go home soon Tony and don’t come back!!!!!!!

The results from this year and those from the previous years are added for your amusement and I look forward to seeing you all next year for more fast and furious action.
Regards
Roger

Side by Side Trophy

I thought the Annual Shoot 2007 was a really well organised day and it seemed to go like clockwork! But just one thought. There is a very nice trophy for side by side users but not many people seem to have a try for it.

It would be nice to see more people having a go with the traditional game gun.

One suggestion to encourage interest I have is this. It is reckoned that a side by side is equivalent to a 10% handicap with clays, so make this official and boost the scores of teams by 10% for every member of the team using a a side by side! That should make people a bit keener to use one! And means that teams with someone using a side by side aren't handicapped because of it. I'd be interested to know what others think.
