Dear fellow members,
Please find below a letter of thanks from the chief executive of the Gamekeepers Welfare Trust in response regarding the charity monies raised during our recent Summer Charity Shoot 2020. It’s still not too late to make any additional personal donations, 100% of all monies received go directly to the Gamekeepers Welfare Trust.
We were very sorry not to be able to join you for the prize awarding event last Saturday but wanted to thank you so much for the enormous efforts you have all put in to support the Gamekeepers’ Welfare Trust. We sincerely appreciate your support and are humbled by all the hard work put in to make these shoots a resounding success in difficult circumstances.
We must admit we are very concerned for our gamekeeping community above and beyond the usual hardships encountered year on year. We have families who have been bereaved or ill and not able to see their loved ones as many have but added to which the uncertainties of shoots going ahead, with more areas going into lockdown, impending redundancies, which means jobs and homes. You can be sure that the welfare of the birds has been paramount in the hearts and minds of keepers in these situations which demonstrates their total commitment to their jobs and dedication thereof.
We are most grateful to you all in helping us keep in touch with the retired, lonely and disabled, through our letters, gifts and calls as well as financial support. Our helpline which is open 24/7, and gamekeeper packs with information on a wide range of issues which affect gamekeepers and their families, in work and in retirement and not forgetting students who are perhaps more vulnerable than many, with no prospect of placements let alone jobs in these uncertain times.
Thank you so much everyone.
Stay safe and well .
