PGPC Chairman’s 2020 Letter

Dear Fellow Guns

Greeting from the Chairman

2020 is going to be a significant year for the Club in many ways.

Firstly I would like to let you know that after some 34 years as both a Club member

and serving on the committee I have decided to step down as Chairman and hand the

reins over to someone who is younger, very enthusiastic and keen to secure the Club’s

future life. Chris Warman is that man and he has already had an impact on our

operation with his negotiating skills in booking events and encouraging new blood

into the membership. Please welcome him into his new role and continue with your

support of all our future activities. I will continue on as a committee member but in

the style of the now sadly departed John Ratcliff who was the self styled “El

President” of the Manchester PGPC.

I’d also like to thank Fergus Campbell, who is stepping down from the committee, for

all his years of hard work in organising shoots and managing the Club’s database.

Best wishes Fergus in your new role and if anyone knows a tech savvy property bod

who would be willing to replace Fergus on the committee please let the Chairman

On a positive note, we are proud to launch our new Club website and Social Media accounts. Establishing a strong online presence will become a true asset of the Club; our website allows members to keep up to date with the club at leisure, and will facilitate the growth of our community. We are ready to welcome the Club into the 21st century, and with the website featuring Club events, news of past events, a photo gallery, online booking facilities, Club membership and more, we look forward to a promising future for PGPC.

Perhaps the most significant new feature of the Club will be the soon to launch Club

website. We are putting the final touches to a long overdue facility that will drag the

Club into the 21st century with features such as details of Club events, news of past

events, a photo gallery, booking facilities, Club membership and more. We will let

you know as soon as we are live. In the meantime you’ll have to rely on this old

fashioned e-mail method of communication.

Last years events were somewhat of a Curate’s Egg in nature. We had a very

enjoyable but damp Club game shoot in November and a successful Autumn shoot at

H&H. Earlier events however, while resulting in the Club successfully regaining the

Inter Region Trophy and The Four Musket Ears triumphing at the Annual Shoot, were

marred by unacceptable organisational performances that led to excessive queuing,

poor directions and over difficult targets. The Committee can only apologise for this

and assure you that in 2020 things will be different!

Now on to the 2020 calendar and while this may not be the definitive list of events I

do hope that you will put them into your diaries/schedules and make every effort to

attend them and shoot with other guns from the property world.
